3 Health Benefits Of Halloween Sugar Cookies

keto halloween sugar cookies

#1: Provides Antioxidant Support

If you take a peek at the ingredients in your traditional sugar cookies, you’ll see the first two ingredients are usually flour and sugar. These keto-friendly Halloween treats omit both and replace them with low-carb alternatives that not only keep your blood sugar stable but satisfy your sweet tooth as well.

And if that wasn’t enough, by replacing white flour with almond flour, you’re providing your body with an extra dose of vitamin E. Vitamin E is a fat-soluble vitamin that acts as a potent antioxidant in your body. In fact, one-half cup of almonds contains 17 mg of vitamin E — that’s over 100% of your daily needs[*].

Vitamin E plays a crucial role in protecting the membranes of your cells. As a fat-soluble antioxidant, it fends off reactive oxygen species (ROS) that attack your cells. Your body is exposed to ROS from a variety of environmental factors, including air pollution, cigarette smoke, UV rays from the sun, and more.

Therefore, having a strong antioxidant system to combat oxidative stress is essential to your overall health and immunity[*].

#2: Protective Against Metabolic Syndrome

The Perfect Keto Snickerdoodle Nut Butter is packed with healthy fats. Macadamia nuts, in particular, are a rich source of omega-9 fatty acids (also known as monounsaturated fats), with 80% of their fat content coming from omega-9s[*].

Unlike omega-6 fats, omega-9’s aren’t quite as abundant in the food supply.

Diets rich in monounsaturated fats are associated with lower blood sugar and a reduced risk for diabetes. In addition, heart disease markers like blood pressure, triglycerides, and cholesterol all show improvement with increased monounsaturated fat intake[*].

All of these factors are associated with metabolic syndrome, which is a cluster of conditions that often lead to diabetes and heart disease[*].

#3: Rich Source Of CLA

When following a keto diet, the goal isn’t to just fill your diet with fat. The type of fat that you consume has a very meaningful impact on your overall health.

CLA (conjugated linoleic acid) is a fatty acid found in meat and dairy. Grass-fed butter, however, is an excellent source with up to 500% more CLA than grain-fed butter[*].

CLA has been studied for its potential therapeutic effects in a number of diseases. Research shows that CLA may help with weight loss, protect against cancer, and reduce risk factors for heart disease[*].

One study even found that CLA was able to induce cancer cell death in rats with colon cancer[*].
